Horizon College Welcomes the 2025–2026 Student Government

The Campaign

Campaign week at Horizon College opened with excitement as students presented their ideas for improving school life—cleaner classrooms, fairer rules, and stronger teamwork. “I was nervous at first,” shared ABOKI M., candidate for Sanitation Prefect, “but speaking reminded me this was my chance to grow.” Photos from the event captured speeches, cheers, and meaningful discussions, demonstrating that at Horizon College, education extends beyond the classroom. Students learn by taking initiative, accepting responsibility, and stepping confidently into leadership.

Voting Process

On voting day, each classroom became a polling station. Students lined up eagerly to choose their leaders, with teachers supervising to ensure fairness and transparency. Staff guided them through every step, teaching the value of democratic participation. For many, it was their first real experience with voting—making choices, accepting outcomes, and practicing civic duty. The exercise did more than select leaders; it helped students understand the concepts of accountability, decision-making, and their role in shaping a community.

The elections produced a diverse and committed leadership team. The Senior Prefect represents the voice of students and encourages respectful communication. The Assistant Senior Prefect ensures coordination across teams. The Discipline Prefect promotes order and mutual respect, while the Sanitation Prefect leads cleanliness initiatives that foster pride in the environment. The Sports Prefect strengthens teamwork and wellness through organized activities. The Library Prefect supports a vibrant reading culture, and the Chapel Prefect nurtures moral and spiritual values. Class Representatives serve as essential bridges between students and teachers. Together, this team aims to serve with integrity, energy, and accountability.

Handing Over

During the handing-over ceremony, outgoing leaders proudly passed badges, files, and advice to their successors. The moment symbolized renewal and progress, reminding everyone that leadership is rooted in service, humility, and example.

The Student Government at Horizon College reflects HOBEC’s mission of practical education and talent development. By giving students real responsibilities, the school builds confident, disciplined, and compassionate leaders. The 2025–2026 team is more than a group of officeholders—it is a living leadership laboratory shaping tomorrow’s nation builders.
